"I recently had a wonderful guided tour with Kate, as part of our walking group, the Slane Striders. We found it most enjoyable and informative. Kate's knowledge and presentation was easy to understand and she brought the bog to life for us. She received a well-deserved round of applause after her tour and I would highly recommend Kate's tour for any group or inidvidual."

“Myself and my husband went on the Girley bog foraging walk. It was a lovely day and we were guided along the way by Kate who provided us with great information and showed us all types of flowers and wildlife on the bog and educated us on what to gather while foraging and what to steer clear of. We came across bilberries in a wooded area which were delicious. To finish up a lovely walk the group gathered in the carpark for a lovely picnic all made from foraged foods - lovely oatcakes, jams, chutneys cakes and elderflower cordial a perfect finish to a perfect day. Thanks again Kate and well done!”

Yesterday marked the last day of summer, despite the fact that there has been a decidedly autumnal nip in the air for the past couple of weeks. But what a fantastic summer it has been on Girley Bog. I’ve enjoyed meeting lots of different people, going on bog walks and discovering a few ‘firsts’, in terms of plants, birds and bugs. Find out more.
